CNP Bogota 2025 Third Place

CNP Bogota 2025 - Chaotic and Unforgettable

Last weekend, on May 31 and June 1, I competed at CNP Bogota 2025, playing not for one but two teams, MEDELLIN in the Open division and VALKIRIA IN Division 5. That meant zero rest and 55 points played across the weekend, without sitting out a single one.

We landed Friday morning in Bogota. I was with Arturo Andrade and Croque, and our ride to the field? Absolute chaos. A tiny van with no working reverse, a broken door, and a near gas station brawl set the tone. Two hours later, we made it to the field, the traffic didn’t help at all, we watched teams practice, walked the layout, then headed to the hotel to rest.

Saturday - The Marathon Begins

At 4:30 a.m., I was up to help VALKIRIA, learning their codes the night before and running on barely any sleep.  First match was a close 2-3 loss to TEMPLARIOS, mainly due to penalties. But in the second match, we won 3-0, VALKIRIA’s first ever win. I was so proud of them and they were super happy!

After a rainy morning, I went back to the hotel, I rested and tried to shake off how sick I was feeling. At 1:30 p.m., it was game time again. First Open match was vs. Piratas, one of the strongest rosters in the tournament. We knew going in it wouldn’t be easy, they have solid lanes and smart, disciplined players like Eddie Vasquez from RED LEGION, Pedro Ojeda and Jose Dina. The game was tight from start to finish. We were tied as the clock wound down, and in the final moments, we made a solid push that almost sealed the win, but we ran out of time. Then came FULL COSTA. We cleaned up mistakes and closed it 4-0. That night I got an IV for the first time and some meds to recover.

Sunday Chaos, Comebacks & Final Push

About those pills? They worked too well. I slept through six alarms and 8 phone calls. Croque had to get a key from the front desk, come in to my room, and wake me up himself. I shot out of bed with my heart racing, packed like a madwoman, and somehow made it out the door by 6:10am. I geared up in the car. We were supposed to be at the field by 5:45am, but thankfully I didn’t miss any points.

First VALKIRIA game was against Chernobyl Brazil, who would go on to win the Division 5 (huge shootout to Bianca, te quiero) I dropped a 4 pack in the final minute and scored a point in just 23 seconds, but we still lost 3-5.

Next up was Medellin D5, the local squad. They know me well, so I decided to completely change my playing style and position to keep them guessing. The adjustment almost paid off, but we fell just short, 3-4. I’m proud of the VALKIRIA girls. They’re fighters and have so much potential. This was just the start for them and I truly believe they have a lot of growth ahead.

Then it was time to lock in for Open. We beat Nameless 3-1 and faced Wild Dogs next and let’s just say… the match lived up to their name. They played dirty (iykyk). In the second point, they even tried pulling a dead man’s walk, which didn’t work, but definitely showed how wild this one was going to get. Later in the match, I shot Diego Gallego in the no no square by accident, and then got overshot pretty badly by his brother Andres, happy they got their revenge. Even though we kept it close at first, they pulled ahead, and we couldn’t close the gap.

Semi - Finals

We played Piratas again in semis, but we were down Santi (our Dorito player). On top of that, I had major gun issues, my marker stopped working mid point, and even my backup wasn’t reliable. It was pure chaos. We brought it within one point with little time left, but with dying early in the final push and no time to force overtime, we had to settle for third place.

I’m incredibly proud of how much I pushed myself. 9 matches. 55 points. No breaks. I learned so much from being Arturo’s 2 and being around such high-level play. Big thanks to him for his mentorship, on and off the field.

CNP Bogota was unforgettable, from the madness of the ride to the exhaustion, emotion, and moments that made it all worth it. I saw old friends, and pushed myself harder than ever. Big thanks to my MEDELLIN squad for trusting me.

On to the next one: WNXL Ohio. I’m ready.
